What is your name/stage name?
Where are you from?
What do you do?
I’m a full-time daddy, full-time hustla, full-time artist,
part-time chef. I’m making music, raising my kids, and
just trying to survive out here.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been singing since 2 years old and started rapping
around 11 or 12. Always loved music. I’ve been writing
my own songs since around 7 or 8.
Who’s your biggest inspiration?
My family. My mom can sing and my big brother went to the
Apollo when I was 13 and that was just awe-inspiring to me.
My biggest celebrity inspiration is Eminem because he
started out as an underdog and proved everybody wrong
despite his failures and past actions.
What genre of music do you create?
My music is a mixture of rnb, rap, pop, and soul….I like to
call my style hoodsoul because I put all of what I’ve been
through, all the pain, struggling,
injustices, into my music.
What was it like working with (collabs?)
I’ll basically work with anybody. I want diversity in my music
and musical partners. I can sing or rap or write as needed.
What are some features you have?
My song- Her Thoughts Featuring Lady Dimples. Keep It Real by
700smoke ft Kevo Star, Ym Toodope. My song- A1 ft Tdot Banks.
What are some features you want to get?
Kevin Gates for sure. Jake Strain, Eminem, J. Cole, Ella Mai,
Few locals – C4, Nlnm Tiz, and 700smoke.
Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
MO3 – R.I.P.
Are you signed to a label?
Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
I’M OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS AND WILLING TO LOOK OVER TERMS.
Who are your biggest supporters?
My babies – my baby momma even though she doesn’t want to,
my kids, my mom, and my manager Strapzz Staton/Empiya Ent.
Where did your name come from?
I wanted to be like my brother and his name was J Star so
I stole Star and went with it. Eventually it evolved into
Kevo from my first name, Lakevious.
What are you currently working on?
My next mixtape.
What is your latest release?
THE PLUG on all platforms
released Oct 14th, 2021.
When is your next release?
