1. What is your name/stage name?
Most know me by Jaae Kash but some call me Jaae too.
2. When is your birthday?
My birthday is January 9th. I’m a 90s baby!
3. Where are you from?
Los Angeles, CA
4. What do you do?
I’m a man that wears many hats but most know me as a music producer, audio engineer and recording artist. I’ve done some A&R here and there, marketing, branding too.
5. How long have you been making music?
I was doing music long before I had a relationship with God. I started back in middle school making beats with my cousin. One day he was like “yo, we should start rapping too” so we did. We used to put a sock over the microphone as a pop filter. Lol. Good times. I took my music seriously when I was in high school. I actually had songs with a few big name artists on my album: BLXST, Young Curt (R.I.P) just to name a few. I even had the chance to work with Tee Flii and Casey Veggies on a song and it played on Power 106. Shout out DJ Carisma. Things were taking off but when I gave my life to the Lord in 2013 it was time to shut that down. That’s when I started doing Christian Hip-Hop. My bro Mike from Generation Recovery took me to my first CHH show to see Bizzle and my eyes were opened to the CHH world. I was so inspired to do music for God and since then I’ve been able to work with: Miles Minnick, Brvndon P, Parris Chariz, Joey Vantes, Dru Bex, Not Klyde and a few more amazing artists. It’s been an journey fasho.
6. What was your first song/project?
My first song was “Every Season”. It was apart of a EP I had called “God’s Will” but I took the EP down and just kept the single. I felt “Every Season” stood out from all the other records at that time.
7. Who’s your inspiration?
One of my biggest inspirations is Andy Mineo, Miles Minnick and Jesus Christ of course. Andy is just so different man. He has so many flavors to his music. He’s the kind of artist I strive to be. I really respect Miles for his art, planning, humility and execution. Dude is a genius and he really loves the Lord. Who would I be if I didn’t say Jesus Christ? He’s who I am striving to be every single day. I remember my wife asked me if I could have a super power, what would it be? I told her to love like Jesus.
8. What genre of music do you create?
Christian Hip-Hop/Rap/RnB
9. Do you come up with your video concepts?
Yes I usually direct and edit my own music videos. Sometimes, I just see it in my head. The struggle is trying to make it a reality or having the right budget to make it happen.
10. What was it like working with (fill in the blank) then answer.
Working with Miles Minnick was a huge blessing and a serious learning lesson. Being around him makes you want to step it up in whatever you are doing. He does everything with excellence and precision. Being on set for the “All I Need” music video was a bit intimidating but he really motivated me to take things to the next level. I thank God for Miles cause he really breathes this music and He genuinely loves God, his family and the people.
