O’Shea Jackson Jr. Jokes About Drake’s ‘Janice’ Parties, Sends Fans Down a History Lesson

O’Shea Jackson Jr. had social media laughing after weighing in on Drake’s latest promotional stunt inspired by his viral hit Janice STFU.

As “Janice STFU” continues to dominate playlists and social media, Drake has begun hosting exclusive parties for women named Janice in what appears to be a playful nod to the song’s title. The events have already popped up in cities including New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Houston, with Drake framing them as a lighthearted apology to all the Janices who have heard the track all summer.

Jackson Jr., however, couldn’t resist making a joke about the gatherings.

Taking to social media, the actor jokingly warned women named Janice not to attend, comparing the parties to Operation Flagship, a famous law enforcement sting conducted in 1985.

The operation involved authorities inviting wanted fugitives to claim free tickets for a Washington Redskins football game before arresting them upon arrival. Referencing that incident, Jackson Jr. humorously suggested Drake’s Janice parties could be a similar trap—a comment that was clearly intended as satire.

Not everyone appreciated the joke.

Some Drake fans interpreted the post as another shot at the rapper, prompting heated replies. Jackson Jr. quickly pushed back against critics, insisting the comment wasn’t intended as a diss and emphasizing that it was simply a joke.

The actor has been vocal about the high-profile feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar over the past year, making his comments unsurprising to fans familiar with his online presence. Even so, he has also admitted that “Janice STFU” is undeniably catchy despite their rivalry.

Meanwhile, Drake appears fully committed to the promotional campaign surrounding the song. The rapper recently shared an Instagram Story featuring three women named Janice from Texas, jokingly kicking off the initiative with them.

Despite Jackson Jr.’s humorous comparison, there have been no reports of anything resembling the historic Operation Flagship scenario. The parties appear to be exactly what they’re advertised as: a playful marketing campaign tied to one of the biggest records from Drake’s latest album, ICEMAN.

With “Janice STFU” continuing to rack up streams alongside other standout tracks like Shabang, Drake’s unconventional promotion seems to be keeping the album firmly in the cultural conversation.

Whether fans are attending the Janice-themed events or simply laughing at the jokes surrounding them, one thing is clear: Drake has found another creative way to turn one of the summer’s biggest songs into a viral moment.
