Skyloogypsy, born Taylor Davies, is an independent songwriter and singer-rapper representing the Durham/Raleigh area. With nearly a decade of experience in music, Skyloogypsy’s journey has been less about chasing a destination and more about trusting the process. What started back in high school as a creative outlet has evolved into a deeply personal, self-led artistic path defined by mood, vibe, and raw individuality.
Her first recorded song, “Swirly Sands,” marked an early moment of experimentation — a glimpse into an artist still discovering her sound. Over the years, Skyloogypsy has continued to develop a style that resists easy labels. Her music lives in a space of feeling rather than formula, blending rap and melody to create atmospheric tracks that reflect her state of mind. She describes her music simply as “vibes” and “mood,” and that simplicity is part of its strength.
Entirely self-driven, Skyloogypsy writes her own lyrics, produces her own tracks, and creates her own visuals and concepts. She is her own biggest support system, relying on inner confidence and persistence to keep moving forward. Her influences aren’t rooted in one clear lane, drawing inspiration from artists like BLP Kosher, 1900Rugrat, Peso Peso, and collaborator 83 Hades. She has already worked with 83 Hades and remains open to creative partnerships built on energy, confidence, and spunk. If given the chance, she’d love to work with Cardi B, admiring her bold presence and unapologetic success.
Currently, Skyloogypsy is working on a new album, with her next release expected within the next two to four weeks.
