Once a musician produces one hit song, they need to ensure that their career continues at the same pace. Following up on your initial hit’s success can be difficult. However, it has been a breeze for hip-hop star Signature illi, who has been producing one smashing hit after the other.
Signature illi, born Sahil Contractor, is an artist whose music is a unique blend of pop and hip-hop, creating a signature style that is instantly recognizable. He has been making music since 2018, when he released his first hit single, “Designated Driver.” It was met with lots of attention and streams on platforms like Spotify and Soundcloud.
“My first single was probably the hardest one to put out,” recalls Signature illi. “I wasn’t experienced and didn’t know what I wanted to do with my career. However, I knew the song was great, so I put it out for the world to listen.” Signature illi has backed up his initial success with more hit tracks, including “Dark Thoughts,” “Loneliest Nights,” and “What You Wanted,” which all received tons of praise from audiences and critics alike.
Signature illi released his first full album called Champagne in Champaign in 2020. It includes tracks like “Losing Direction,” “Blowing My High,” and “Product of Environment.” “I wanted to make a cohesive album that could be listened to together while still creating its own hits that could be on the radio,” says Signature illi. “I think I’ve achieved that.” He released another album in 2020 called Alter Ego. While completing two huge projects like these in one year was difficult, it was also extremely rewarding for the music star. “The pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns helped me a lot in creating new material,” explains Signature illi. His song “Codeine and Churchgirls” has nearly 100,00 streams on Spotify, and the singer has almost 29,000 monthly listeners on the platform.
Signature illi’s music career has really taken off since he released his first hit single. Now, he can’t wait to see where the future leads.
