Q.) What is your name / stage name?
I go by the name DeeRoc J The Chemi$t.

Q.) Where are you from?
I’m from Indiana, born & raised.

Q.) What do you do?
I’m an independent artist. I produce myself & push my own personal brand

Q.) How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for 10 years. I started as a sophomore in high school & have been learning every since.

Q.) What was your first song/project?
My first project was a mixtape I did back in 2015 called “1997.” I wrote & produced it all independently.

Q.) Who’s your inspiration?
I have a lot of great inspirations. Guys like Kendrick Lamar, Cole, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Snoop, Curren$y. That’s just to name a few but I’m inspired by so many people that we consider greats or legends in the game.

Q.) What genre of music do you create?
I’m all about hip hop. I’m new generation of course but I love so many different eras of rap.

Q.) What are some features you have?
I don’t really have any features in my music. I would like to collab with other great artists that make dope music.

Q.) Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
If I had to choose someone who’s passed on I’d say Tupac. Alive, I’d say Lil Wayne.

Q.) Are you signed to a label?
No, I’m not signed to anyone. I’m independent through my own brand Chemi$try Lab Recordings.

Q.) Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
I wouldn’t mind a deal if it’s the right deal. Until then I’m cool just hustling doing my own thing.

Q.) Who are your biggest supporters?
One of my biggest supporters is definitely my wife. Aside from her, a few of my close homies & family rock with the music too.

Q.) Do you write your own material?
Yes, everything is written by me.

Q.) Do you create your own music video concepts?
Yes, I pretty much do everything myself including shooting my videos & editing them.

Q.) What’s your favorite music to listen to?
Definitely rap. Aside from that, I like R & B, Soul & Funk. I love the old school.

Q.) What are you currently working on?
I’m working on a little bit of everything. I try & record every single day, make beats every single day & try to get work done as much as possible. Definitely expect new tapes & visuals.

Q.) What is your latest release?
So far this I just released a single called “Self Intervention” on SoundCloud. Just a sneak peak into what I have coming soon.

Q.) When is your next release?
I’ll probably release something before January is over. Might be a tape or a visual. Stay tuned & see what’s next.

Q.) Where is one place you want to travel to perform?
I definitely want to travel around to a bunch of different spots. Hopefully get in front of some people & put on a show.

Q.) What’s the biggest crowd that you have performed for?
Probably 40 to 50 people if I had to guess. Small event but I rocked it like it was 400 or 500.

Q.) Who’s someone you can see yourself on tour with?
I’m not sure. Whoever I do a tour with I just hope it’s all love & just a super positive space. I’m all for positivity.

Q.) Who produces your music?
I produce all of my records. Mixing, mastering, everything. I take great pride in doing it. It makes you appreciate the journey you’re on.

Q.) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself gaining more fans, more success & definitely see my music living throughout the years & being the soundtrack to people’s lives no matter where they are.
