Infamous producer LX Xander originally grew up in the north of England, then moved to Los Angeles, California, to expand his music network and send his own career into the stratosphere. It seems fitting, then, that he should partner with upcoming British rapper Lowko on making the same happen for him.
Although Lowko grew up in Wolverhampton, England, his pool of influences is decidedly American: “I take a lot of my delivery and punchline inspiration from Pusha T, Tunechi and Kevin Gates,” he tells us, “But I sing, I listen to a lot of 70’s & 80’s music, I have rock songs, listen to a lot of Nirvana, Papa Roach. Ozzy, David Bowie, so it varies a lot.”
“In 2023 I chose to risk it all and start my life over again from scratch.” Lowko elaborates. “I cut off anything or anybody that wasn’t serving me; family, friends, jobs, I moved country and committed myself full time to creating a life of freedom.”
“I found LX via one of my favorite all time artists (Riff Raff). I then checked his accolades, not only in the production market, but his network, his values and his background… and then the icing on the cake was the vibe that I got when speaking to him over the phone – feels like we’ve already met before!”
You can find Lowko at @mividakoka on Instagram. His collaboration with LX Xander will be released in the coming months.
