Roddy Ricch’s new single, “Survivors Remorse,” marks a significant departure from his usual themes, as the rapper opens up about his lean addiction and family struggles. The track, a lead-up to his forthcoming album, sees Roddy laying bare his personal battles in a raw and unfiltered manner.
The song’s first verse tackles the custody battle with his ex-girlfriend over their son. Roddy’s heartfelt lyrics, “I been goin’ through child support/ A good daddy, I vouch for it/ She just want a new mile for/ Fuck a ride, fell out with some of my homies, havin’ too much pride,” reveal the emotional strain of the legal conflict and the impact on his personal relationships.
Roddy’s fight against lean addiction is another focal point of the track. His admission, “Pride myself off the progress of being off codeine/ I promise, it’s so hard to shake,” highlights the challenges of overcoming substance abuse and his determination to stay clean.

The resolution of Roddy’s custody battle with Alexandra Kiser brought some stability to his life. The agreement grants Roddy physical custody of their son from Tuesday to Thursday each week. Additionally, he will pay $8,000 a month in child support and cover the costs of private school, medical bills, special-needs therapy, and extracurricular activities.
Roddy also agreed to pay Kiser’s $37,500 legal fees and provide her with $1,000 a month for a car. These terms were negotiated after Kiser initially sought sole custody, citing Roddy’s alleged gang ties and drug use as concerns.
“Rodrick Moore is gang-affiliated,” Kiser claimed in court documents, using Roddy’s real name. “He has been arrested on a gun charge, domestic violence and regularly indulges in promethazine use, all of which are concerns for myself and our son.” She also accused Roddy of cutting her off financially and attempting to force her out of a home he provided.
Roddy’s openness about his struggles with addiction and family issues in “Survivors Remorse” not only adds depth to his music but also resonates with fans who may be facing similar challenges. His journey serves as a testament to the strength required to confront personal demons and emerge stronger.
