Interview With Gdubbz215

1. What is your name/stage name?

Gdubbz215 but you can call me; Dubbz da Hound, Dubbz da Jester, or LA RellyRellz. When you tune in to my music, you’ll hear the difference.

2. When is your birthday?

10/21/1807. Which means I turn 215 on the 21st of this month. The reason why I say this is because I see age can stunt an artist’s growth and I know that I’ve been through or seen more than most in my lifespan.

3. Where are you from?

West Philadelphia, PA but I moved out to Federal Way, WA a couple years back and I call it a second home.

4. What do you do?

I give insight on my life and I hope it motivates for real. I’ve been through a lot so I know lines in my songs will resonate with someone. Inspire someone to become the next billionaire.

5. How long have you been making music?

When I was growing up, I would write little raps. I was always passionate about music because I know it’s a great way to bring people together and build a community. I started recording in June 2019 but I didn’t actually start taking it seriously till 2021.

6. What was your first project?

My first project was “Demon Season” featuring Lazy3x (AKA LazarusMakesMusic) and LovePAIN2000. That project was a small Halloween project that I put together in I think 2 weeks. It was recorded on my Iphone 7 with headphones in my mom’s car. To think it would do numbers over 10k streams the first week was outstanding to me for real.

7. Who’s your inspiration?

I have many but my main inspiration is my family, because it’s because of all of them that I’m still here making music. But some musical inspirations are, just to name a few; Meek Mill, Tsu Surf, NLE Choppa, King Von Tupac, Hopsin, Cassidy, Soulja Boy, and Futuristic. Not to be confused with future.

8. What genre of music do you create?

I feel like I can really do any to be honest. I listened to all types of music growing up and i didnt even start listening to Hip Hop until the 8th grade. But until I’m asked for a feature in the other genres, I make Alternative Hip Hop.

9. Do you come up with your video concepts?

Me and my little sister come together and we turn on my music and find the best songs that we can do within our budget and then we just listen to the song until we feel like we have enough ideas then shoot.

10. What was it like working with 215Rache?

Outstanding. He is an outstanding artist. He’s like Kendrick, Kur, Cole, and a lil bit of Herbo. But most importantly he’s himself on every track that he spit on. On every track I can tell bul is giving his all and I just met him last year.

11. What are some features you have?

I have 215Rache as previously mentioned, WARBABYGLIZZY, MelloMaal, and a couple of other local Federal Way artists.

12. What are some features you want to get?

I would like to get a feature from; Zotiyac, Tsu Surf, NLE Choppa, Leaf Ward, Kur, and John Gabbanna.

13. Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?

I want to get a collaboration with lyrical lemonade. I love the way that they direct their music videos.

14. Are you signed to a label?

I am not, but I do plan on starting one. Once I get the eyes on the city I want to try and bring some up with me. Like if you think your music is different and holds actual substance hit me up for real, for real.

15. Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?

Right now i’m just doing me, but if a distribution deal comes knocking on my door, I’m going to hear what they have to say. Same thing with a label. I mean unless they want to take creative control.

16. Who are your biggest supporters?

My biggest supporter is myself. 100%. I’m the one who tells me to get into the studio, to go record a video, how and when to record it. But I do get a lot of love from the communities that I have been building on social media.

17. Where did your name come from?

Its just one of my childhood nicknames. The G is the first letter of my first name Gerrell, and the Dubbz is the W in my last name. The 215 is the Philadelphia area code and I’m representing my city til the day I die. I even have it tatted on my face.

18. Do you write your own material?

100% no question.

19. Do you create your own music video concepts?

My sister and I do it.

20. What’s your favorite music to listen to?

It changed it for the better because once I was isolated I was able to crack open the vault that is my mind, I was able to share the wealth that was inside with the world.
