D12 legend Proof’s Music Rights Finally Returned To Family

Former manager Mark Hicks confirmed on The Hoodsmokers Podcast that Proof’s wife and eldest son now control his estate and will benefit directly from streaming revenue. “When you stream on Spotify or YouTube, know that his children and his wife are over it,” Hicks explained.

With the rights secured, unreleased music from Proof’s vault is expected to see the light of day. Hicks noted that for years the catalogue bounced between different hands, making it difficult to release anything. Now, his family is preparing to share long-lost material.

Hicks also revealed that Proof will appear on the soundtrack for Eminem’s upcoming documentary Stans, dropping August 26, 2025. He added that fans can already enjoy classics like Searching for Gerry GarciaI Miss The Hip Hop Shop, and Grown Man Shit on streaming platforms worldwide.

Proof’s legacy also lives on through his son Nasaan, who has pursued his own rap career and hinted last year at a possible collaboration with Eminem.
