For more than a decade, Skyloo Gypsy has been quietly building her
craft, turning personal experiences into music that reflects both
resilience and growth. Hailing from Durham, North Carolina, she
currently balances life working in a restaurant while continuing to
pursue the dream she’s carried for over ten years. For Skyloo, music
has never been a side hobby—it’s always been the destination.
Inspired by her own life as much as the artists she admires, Skyloo
credits Cardi B as one of her biggest influences, not only because of
her talent but because of her inspiring journey from humble beginnings
to global success. That same determination fuels Skyloo’s approach to
hip-hop, where every lyric is rooted in authenticity. With the
exception of one unfinished record, she writes all of her own material
and even produces her own music, giving her complete creative control
over her sound.
Her latest project, Pretty Girls Don’t Panic, showcases an artist who
isn’t afraid to tell her story, while her upcoming release, Leanin,
signals another step forward in her evolution. Lately, she’s
challenged herself to grow beyond traditional rap formulas by reducing
profanity in her music, expanding her vocabulary, and creating records
that carry more maturity and intention. Faith has also become a
central part of her songwriting, with messages about God naturally
finding their way into her lyrics.
Although she has yet to perform live, Skyloo Gypsy sees that as
motivation rather than a limitation. She’s eager to step onto the
stage, connect with audiences, and continue building a fan base that
appreciates honesty over hype. Along the way, she’s collaborated with
artist 83 Hades and remains open to working with more creatives while
searching for videographers and artists throughout North Carolina’s
Triangle region.
Looking ahead, Skyloo envisions a future filled with larger audiences,
greater financial freedom, and a stronger platform to inspire others.
Her music reflects someone who refuses to stop evolving, embracing
every lesson life has offered while staying true to herself. As her
journey continues, one thing remains constant—Skyloo Gypsy is
determined to let her story speak louder than any obstacle standing in
