Pittsburgh-bred artist ShugMac is carving out a lane defined by versatility, authenticity, and pure passion for the craft. Growing up surrounded by music, ShugMac began experimenting with melodies at a young age, officially taking music seriously around age 14 or 15—then stepping out independently in 2018. Since then, ShugMac has remained unstoppable.
His earliest musical memories include performing early hip-hop hits and creating gospel songs, a foundation that shaped his wide-ranging sound today. Influenced by timeless legends such as Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Luther Vandross, ShugMac brings a soulful yet modern touch to genres including hip-hop, pop, rock, and R&B.
ShugMac has already built an impressive catalog of collaborations, including “No Love” with Uncle Mac, “SHAMEA” with Rukkiss, and “Night Long” with Bonnie The Kid. He writes all his own material and even develops his own music video concepts, including one currently circulating for his single Empty Thoughts.
His supporters, especially MacFam and Bee Bella, have been key motivators as he works on the upcoming re-release of his EP MacnTime. His latest single, “Mama What You Think,” is already available on all platforms and showcases the emotional honesty he brings to every track.
ShugMac dreams of collaborating with Whitney Houston if time and reality bent in his favor. While he’s not signed yet, he’s open to a record deal—or a major investment to fuel his vision even further.
He has rocked major stages, including opening for Soulja Boy, performing alongside Lil Xan, and captivating crowds at Pittsburgh’s Pride Festival. Whether touring with Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, or any high-energy performer, ShugMac is ready for the road.
In five years, he sees himself traveling the world, living fully in his purpose: MUSIC.
