Des Moines native Jacob Spencer, known by his stage name Jake, is a 23-year-old independent musician with a bright future ahead of him. Spencer started making music when he was 15 years old, creating covers and posting them on Youtube before transitioning into writing original music. He draws inspiration from a range of artists, from Justin Bieber to One Direction, but ultimately looks up to his mother as his biggest supporter and motivator. Despite facing criticism and self-doubt in the beginning of his career, Spencer’s love for music never wavered. His passion and dedication to his craft shines through in his work, with his favorite original songs “Any Other Way” and “Hard to Let Go” being deeply personal and heartfelt. While he has yet to perform live, he has already been on stage with his high school choir, show choir, and at open mic nights and karaoke bars. Spencer’s dream is to collaborate with Kendall Schmidt from Big Time Rush and open for the group, which he admires for their creativity and talent. He also looks up to producer Poo Bear, who he believes brings soul into his work. As for his own future, Spencer is always working on new covers and original music, and is willing to collaborate with other artists to create something magical. With his drive and passion, it’s only a matter of time before Jake becomes a household name in the music industry. Jacob Spencer has started the year at full speed with the release of his new EP “In My Feels!” A body of covers that tell a story of falling in love and out of love from start to finish. He also has released a cover of Big Time Rush’s hit song “Paralyzed.”
