Rick Ross marked a major milestone this week, celebrating his 50th birthday surrounded by close friends and longtime collaborators in Miami.
On Wednesday, the MMG founder hosted an A-list celebration at the South Beach Brewing Company & Taproom, with guests including DJ Khaled, French Montana, Max B, and Memphis Bleek, among others. Clips from the night showed the group singing “Happy Birthday” to Rozay, while Khaled took the floor to deliver a speech in his signature motivational style.
The event appeared to follow a white dress code for guests, with Ross standing out in an all-black fit—very on brand for the Boss.
Ross later shared a video from the celebration featuring himself and Khaled offering advice to fans about success and longevity in the industry. The two reflected on coming up without shortcuts and emphasized the importance of building something from the ground up.
“Listen, when it came to us doing what we do, we never hit the licks,” Ross said, explaining that they often heard people in the industry bragging about sudden wins or shortcuts.
Khaled jumped in with the punchline: “And nobody ever invited us to a lick. So guess what we did? We made a whole lick.”
Ross doubled down on the message, warning against chasing fast money or risky moves. He stressed that real success comes from consistency and hard work, not opportunistic shortcuts.
Khaled clarified the lesson even further, telling fans that if they’ve built something on their own, they should keep going and stay proud of it. Ross closed the moment by reframing the idea entirely: don’t even call it a “lick”—you earned it.
With a room full of legends, champagne flowing, and gems being dropped, Rick Ross’ 50th birthday wasn’t just a celebration of age—it was a victory lap for a career built on patience, vision, and making your own lane.
