What is your name/stage name?
What’s up my name is Marcus Grau, and
my stage name is Broken Vibez.
Where are you from?
I’m from Romeoville Illinois, and i’ve
spent almost my entire life here.
What do you do?
I used to be a Merchandise Processor over at Best Buy, but
there were some issues with a couple co-workers so in short,
lets just say I dont work there anymore.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been messing around with music apps and stuff when I was like,
16, but me and a friend got together- and that’s actually how I met
my manager Dennis was through him, and so decided to start
producing music, in september of last year and we made our
first together and performed a couple live shows around
the area at local bars and stuff like that.
Who’s your biggest inspiration?
I love when people ask this question. My biggest inspirations are
artists like, XXXTENTACION, Blackbear, Machine Gun Kelly, NF, Eminem,
Sasha Sloan, and Juice Wrld for sure. If I never heard any of their
songs, I don’t think I would’ve had the motivation to start making music.
What genre of music do you create?
I’m a multi-genre musical artist, so I make all kinds of music. I make
Pop, I make Rock, Rap, R&B, etc. etc. If I had to pick a favorite genre
it would definitely be pop punk ya feel me?
What was it like working with (collabs?)
Working with collaborators is a very unique experience because you get
to peek inside their own little world of what they wanna create and
now all of the sudden you get to become a part of that, and I’m
very thankful that I get to work with these different,
raw talented artists.
What are some features you have?
Ya know there was this female artist, Sasha Alex Sloan, i heard her
album not too long ago,… and I was in shock. It was such a vibe
and such an experience, like c’mon, how could
I not want to work with her.
What are some features you want to get?
Man i wanted to work with Juice Wrld so bad- that man has such a raw
passion for music and you can hear that in most of his songs. It
would most certainly be a dream to work with his craft and his
ideas and stuff like that.
Are you signed to a label?
I am not signed to a label at the moment and so far, there’s
not really any plans to sign to one unless it’s a label from
the mainstream. Gotta go big or go home ya feel me?
Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
I’d like to sign to a label eventually but for now I think
i’ll stay independent until a record label
decides to let me in on a big deal.
Who are your biggest supporters?
My biggest supporters are some of my international friends
from Canada and the UK. They have for sure shown me the most
love besides a few artists i’ve talked to, but in all
seriousness i’d like to think all of my fans are my
biggest supporters whether they even talk to me
or not. The fans are what keep my music going,
it’s a motivational purpose that
tells me to keep going.
Where did your name come from?
So check this, me and a homie of mine were originally gonna be sorta
like a duet but we didn’t know what to call ourselves. So what should
the name be based off of? The type of music we make – or that i make
now. and I was thinking, Broken Vibez because the difference between
me and some artists is, I actually have a meaning behind every word
that comes out of my mouth, and i wanted a name that’ll
make people remember that, so, that’s how I got my name.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently writing a new song called “Hope” and it’s one of my
longest projects to date, with a lot of quick rhymes and really
powerful statements and it really shows more about me and how
I grew up as a troubled teen.
What is your latest release?
My latest release is called Deathwish, and it’s one of my best
projects to date and you can find it over on soundcloud.
When is your next release?
My next release should be the 27th or the 28th of May and this
track will be going on Soundcloud as well.
