Ludacris To Be Honored At Black Music & Entertainment Walk Of Fame

Ludacris is finally receiving another major honor for his decades-long impact on music, film, and entertainment. The Atlanta rap icon is set to be inducted into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame during a ceremony scheduled for June 1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Known for his animated delivery, unforgettable music videos, and sharp Southern lyricism, Ludacris helped shape the sound of early 2000s hip-hop. From club anthems to crossover hits, the Word Of Mouf rapper built a career that expanded far beyond music and into Hollywood, television, and entrepreneurship.

An announcement shared online praised Ludacris as “a trailblazer of Southern hip-hop” whose influence continues to inspire artists across generations. The honor recognizes not only his musical achievements, but also the cultural footprint he has left through acting, business ventures, and entertainment overall.

Several other influential figures will also be inducted at the event, including legendary production team Organized Noize, gospel icon Bishop Paul Morton, music executive Jack The Rapper, former Atlanta mayor Maynard H. Jackson, and Nigerian superstar Davido.

As previously highlighted by AllHipHop, Ludacris remains the highest-selling solo Southern hip-hop artist of all time. He has sold over 15 million records in the United States alone, while his worldwide sales reportedly exceed 25 million.

Outside of music, Ludacris successfully transitioned into acting with roles in acclaimed films like Crash and the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise. He has also appeared in animated favorites such as The Simpsons and Robot Chicken.

Even with his success outside of rap, Luda hasn’t completely stepped away from music. In recent months, he has released tracks like “Pull Over” and “44 Bars,” while also teaming up with Teezo Touchdown and Mike WiLL Made-It on “D33P3R.”

For many fans, the upcoming induction feels long overdue for an artist whose influence on Southern hip-hop and pop culture remains undeniable.
