Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sheriff — known artistically as Menjoy, also performing under the name IAmYungReef — is an artist and songwriter carving out a lane that blends culture, melody, and raw expression. With roots tied to Liberian Afropop and a strong influence from American hip-hop and R&B, his sound reflects both sides of who he is and where he’s headed.
Menjoy’s journey into music grew naturally from passion and creativity, evolving into a focused pursuit of artistry and storytelling. His first recorded project, “I Mean Business,” set the tone early, featuring collaborations with FIS Banga, Javon Musiq, and Bigga Rankin — names that helped introduce his sound to a wider audience. From the start, his music has carried confidence, purpose, and versatility.
Influenced by artists such as PnB Rock, Meek Mill, Ayo Jay, Davido, Wizkid, Tekno, and A Boogie, IAmYungReef effortlessly fuses Afropop rhythms with rap energy and smooth R&B melodies. He writes all of his own lyrics, describing his pen as adaptable and versatile, capable of shifting moods while staying authentic. Beyond the music, he takes creative control of his visuals and promotional concepts, ensuring his artistic vision is fully realized.
Currently working under Swaggertown Records and alongside Bigga Rankin, Menjoy is focused on strategic growth through distribution and marketing. His upcoming project, “I Mean Business,” is set to release on January 21, 2026, across all major streaming platforms, with another drop planned for May 2026. He’s also developing a concept called “Two Sides of Me,” highlighting both his Liberian Afropop identity and his American hip-hop/R&B side.
Looking ahead five years, IAmYungReef envisions himself signed to a major independent deal, performing in cities like DC, LA, Miami, and beyond — a global artist with a sound that connects cultures and crowds alike.
