Foogiano Takes Aim At Gucci Mane On Fiery New Diss Track “The Misunderstood Truth”

Foogiano is making it clear that his relationship with former 1017 Records boss Gucci Mane has reached a breaking point. The Atlanta rapper has released a new diss track titled “The Misunderstood Truth,” taking direct shots at Gucci while adding another chapter to the growing tension surrounding the 1017 camp.

Since getting released from prison earlier this year, Foogiano has been increasingly vocal about the situation involving Gucci Mane and fellow former 1017 artist Pooh Shiesty. After publicly showing support for Shiesty amid allegations that he was involved in a robbery and kidnapping involving Gucci, Foogiano began addressing the conflict through music.

“The Misunderstood Truth” is his most aggressive release in the series so far. According to HotNewHipHop, the final two verses feature accusations directed at Gucci, including allegations of snitching. Gucci and his loved ones have denied those claims. Foogiano also criticizes the way Gucci allegedly handled his artists, raising questions about financial support and assistance when members of the label faced legal problems.

The track follows two earlier releases, “Halfway In” and “Halfway Out,” which also contained references to the ongoing dispute. This time, however, Foogiano takes things further with a more direct lyrical approach.

The accompanying music video makes the message even harder to miss. Foogiano is seen dancing on a 1017 logo, burying a chain associated with the label, and breaking its ice logo. The imagery appears to symbolize his separation from the collective that once played a major role in his career.

Meanwhile, Gucci has continued putting out music, recently releasing his album Against All Odds, which touches on his influence, wealth, and legacy.

With tensions still unfolding and Pooh Shiesty’s trial currently scheduled for February 22, 2027, the situation surrounding 1017 remains far from settled. Whether Gucci decides to respond directly to Foogiano’s latest record is now another question hanging over the dispute.
