Drake fans are continuing to speculate about who could appear on his highly anticipated upcoming album ICEMAN, and now Fakemink has added even more fuel to the rumors.
The rising U.K. rapper recently sparked excitement online after a brief interaction with fans following a show. In a clip shared by Bars on Instagram, Fakemink stopped to sign merchandise and speak with supporters when one fan directly asked whether he would appear on Drake’s upcoming project.
“Just wait,” Fakemink responded.
The cryptic answer immediately sent social media into speculation mode, with many fans taking it as a possible hint toward a collaboration with The Boy. While the comment falls far short of an official confirmation, it certainly keeps the rumors alive.
A Drake and Fakemink collaboration would not come completely out of nowhere either. The two artists previously linked up during Wireless Festival in London last year, where Fakemink joined Drake onstage during one of his performances. That appearance alone was enough to make fans wonder whether Drake had been paying attention to the Essex rapper’s rapid rise.
Fakemink has become one of the more talked-about emerging names in the U.K. rap scene thanks to his blend of jerk-inspired production, grime influences, and experimental hip-hop sounds. Projects like The Boy Who Cried Terrified helped establish him as one of the fresher voices coming out of Britain’s underground scene.
Meanwhile, Drake has built a reputation for identifying rising artists early and incorporating trending sounds into his music. That history makes Fakemink a believable addition to ICEMAN, especially as Drake continues exploring international sounds and younger talent.
The album is currently scheduled to arrive on Friday, May 15, and speculation around the feature list has only intensified in recent weeks.
Other rumored collaborators include Yeat, Central Cee, Julia Wolf, and Sexyy Red due to Drake’s recent collaborations and public appearances with those artists.
Fans are also closely watching Drake’s evolving relationships with former rivals. Rumors surrounding a reconciliation with Future continue circulating, while Rick Ross recently made surprisingly positive comments about the Toronto superstar.
Still, Fakemink remains one of the most intriguing rumored additions to ICEMAN. If the collaboration does happen, it could easily become one of the album’s most talked-about moments.
