Brittany Renner isn’t letting Kevin Gates rewrite the narrative around their short-lived marriage. After Gates claimed during his recent appearance on Club Shay Shay that the two are still friends and have known each other since 2014, Renner took to Instagram to flatly deny his account.
“We are not friends, and I did not know you in 2014,” Renner wrote. She accused Gates of misrepresenting the truth and made it clear that, since he chose to speak publicly about her, she felt entitled to respond. She also teased a more detailed breakdown of her side of the story on her Patreon.
The situation escalated further when Renner addressed Gates again shortly afterward. In a clip shared online and captured by LiveBitez, Renner posted what she described as a voice message from Gates reacting to her comments, in which he appeared to question—while laughing—why she no longer wanted to be friends.
Renner responded with sharp sarcasm in the caption, making it clear she had blocked Gates and wanted no further communication. She also shared what she claimed was a text message from an unidentified contact she alleged to be Gates, referencing law enforcement activity and expressing affection. Alongside the screenshot, Renner posted a pointed message criticizing what she described as manipulative behavior and power dynamics.
In her posts, Renner also appeared to take a swipe at Gates’ current girlfriend, Jelenny Tejada. Their relationship has drawn attention online due to a reported 13-year age gap, with Tejada said to be 26 years old.
Despite the online back-and-forth, Gates and Tejada seem unfazed. As seen in recent posts highlighted by The Shade Room, the couple has been sharing relaxed moments together, including a sun-soaked date where Tejada showed off a large diamond ring.
What began as a disagreement over whether two exes remain on good terms has now spiraled into a very public exchange. And judging by Renner’s tone and Gates’ apparent indifference, this chapter of their story may not be closing quietly anytime soon.
