Yohanson: There’s something undeniably raw about what I do. I’m a New Jersey artist who pours pain, beauty, chaos, and catharsis into every melodic freestyle. I’m not just here to make music — I’m here to bleed on the beat.
Q: Your latest release, All My Friends Are Ghosts, feels heavy but freeing at the same time. What’s the story behind it?
Yohanson: All My Friends Are Ghosts is me confirming what my fans already know: I’m not trying to fit in, I’m building my own lane. The project is about loss, the people who’ve faded from my life, and the ghosts I carry with me — but it’s also about surviving it all.
Q: Who are your biggest influences when it comes to shaping that sound?
Yohanson: Legends like XXXTENTACION, Lil Peep, and $uicideboy$. They weren’t afraid to be messy and human. My sound is eclectic, melodic, and full of feeling. It’s not polished for the algorithm or engineered for the mainstream — and that’s what makes it real.
Q: What’s your creative process like in the studio?
Yohanson: No script, no fluff. I freestyle a majority of my tracks. I just know in my soul the best therapy for me is to get into the studio and create something amazing that people can really vibe to and connect with.
Q: A lot of your music touches on some heavy topics. What themes come up most in your work?
Yohanson: Heartbreak, drug addiction, loss, love — but also fun and wild energy. Life is complicated, and I want my music to reflect all of it, not just one mood.
Q: You’ve stayed mostly underground but still managed to carve out a loyal following. How did that come about?
Yohanson: I’ve done gritty performances, opened for people like D Savage, and collaborated with indie artists who care more about soul than status. I don’t believe I need a huge feature from someone with no soul just to get my art seen.
Q: What’s your relationship like with social media and your fans?
Yohanson: Social media is a love-hate thing. Honestly, shit is toxic sometimes. But I value connecting with people who really get it. For me, my music isn’t just sound — it’s survival, and when fans feel that, it means everything.
Q: What do you want people to take away when they listen to your music?
Yohanson: Whether you’re deep in your feels or just vibing out, I want my music to be there — honest, haunting, and unforgettable.
