Kodak Black Cleared in Lawsuit Over 2022 Los Angeles Shooting

Kodak Black is no longer facing legal action stemming from a 2022 shooting outside The Nice Guy in Los Angeles.

The incident occurred on February 12, 2022, during Super Bowl weekend, as Kodak was attending an invite-only afterparty hosted by Justin Bieber. The event drew several high-profile guests, including Drake, Lil Baby, and Gunna.

Two individuals injured in the shooting — Mark Schaefer and Adam Rahman — had filed a lawsuit alleging that Kodak escalated an altercation that ultimately led to gunfire. Both men were wounded during the incident, and Kodak himself suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

However, according to a report from TMZ, the lawsuit has now been dropped. Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, confirmed there was no financial settlement and stated that the plaintiffs do not plan to refile the case.

Cohen strongly criticized the legal action, calling it baseless and emphasizing that his client would not be paying any damages. He also noted that, despite the case being dismissed, Kodak chose not to pursue reimbursement for attorney fees.

Initially, the lawsuit also named Justin Bieber as a defendant, though he was dismissed from the case months later. The plaintiffs originally sought $62 million in damages — a figure that was rejected by a judge. A subsequent attempt to claim $10.6 million also failed.

With the case now officially closed and no settlement reached, Kodak Black appears to have moved past the legal chapter tied to that high-profile night in Los Angeles.
