You know things are wild when 50 Cent — yes, the King of Petty himself — is telling people to chill. The rap mogul took to Instagram this week to play peacemaker between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B after their feud reignited like it’s 2018 all over again.
It all started when Nicki threw major shade at Cardi’s latest album Am I the Drama? She mocked its discounted price and even posted a hilarious (and shady) image of Cardi dressed as Barney the Dinosaur, calling her “Barney B.” Petty, much?
Cardi wasn’t having it. She clapped back, calling Nicki “Cocaine Barbie” and dragging her chart performance next to superstars like Drake, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift.
Then 50 Cent slid in like your favorite uncle at the family BBQ, posting:
“I hope the girls stop fighting before things escalate.”
Fans went nuts in his comments. One said, “If 50 is the voice of reason, we’re doomed.”
It’s ironic — the same guy who’s had beef with Ja Rule, The Game, and more is now trying to stop a rap war. But hey, maybe 50’s growth era is real? Or maybe he just doesn’t want to see anyone get hurt. Either way, we’ll be watching (with popcorn).
